If the challenge had been to throw fills vaguely in the direction of the bingo card without ever forming a single line, I would have done pretty well. One day, maybe I will plan my prompt fills ahead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Regardless, it was nice to have some extra motivation to create a broader variety of things and put a bit more effort into some of them so they'd count as a full bingo fill.
Here's my card with the filled squares bolded.
I've got:
Title/Creation: banner for Soulburnt's story "Visiting Limbo"
Prompt: Black and white
Character/Pairing: Dawn, Buffy, Spike
Rating: worksafe
Size: 900x250 px
Soulburnt's summary of the story: Too good for hell, but not welcome in heaven unless he renounces his demon, the Powers That Be don't have a place for Spike after everyone dies at the end of 'Not Fade Away.' So they create a realm for him and others like him. Only... it's actually just him alone.
Meanwhile, Buffy quits slaying after she gets word of what happened in Los Angeles and embraces the normal life. Dawn does just the opposite and starts to explore her dormant Key powers. She plays it safe, astrally projecting just her spirit into other dimensions while she learns. As she grows stronger, she guides herself easily to what she wants to see or experience, like a world with beautiful gardens or diamonds raining from alien skies.
One day she sends her spirit out in search of love... and finds Spike alone in his realm, where time moves at a different pace. The two recapture their friendship, and Dawn sends her spirit to visit his regularly. She doesn't think her sister really cared about Spike, so she never bothers telling her. Then Buffy learns what Dawn has been doing -- and who she's been seeing.
Author's Note/Disclaimer: I played with grayscale areas of the banner to show the boundary between our world and the mind-numbingly empty dimension Spike was trapped in, and Dawn's travel between them.
Title/Creation: banner for thewiggins' story Faithful Will
Prompt: Scratches
Character/Pairing: Buffy, Spike
Rating: worksafe
Size: 900x400 px and a bonus second version
Description of thewiggins' story: a fusion with the Grimm fairy tale "Faithful John", set Once Upon A Time (or maybe Season 5).
Author's Note/Disclaimer: the first version of the banner has a texture that involves some streaks resembling scratches.
Title/Creation: Seasonal Spuffy promo banner
Prompt: It wasn't meant to be
Character/Pairing: Spike/Buffy
Rating: worksafe
Size: 900x360 px
Summary: The banner shows Spike and Buffy on the porch in "Fool for Love", as Spike tentatively reaches out to comfort Buffy.
Author's Note/Disclaimer: What's "meant to be", expected, normal, intended, would be Spike trying to kill Buffy when he, a killer of Slayers, arrived at the end of "Fool for Love" with a rifle. But instead... this.
Title/Creation: Because It Has to Be
Prompt: Explode
Character/Pairing: Giles
Rating: worksafe
Size: 1246x936 px
Summary: A tribute to that series of slow-mo shots in "The Wish" where Giles swiiiiiiings his paperweight down to break Anyanka's amulet.
Author's Note/Disclaimer: I was going for depicting that moment kind of like a big bang of world creation (well, remaking the world). There are certainly some intense cosmic light flashes radiating out from the point of contact.
Title/Creation: Spike Wins the Soul in Kitten Poker: the banner
Prompt: free space
Character/Pairing: Spike, Buffy, Lloyd
Rating: worksafe
Size: 900x250 px
Summary: Spike is playing kitten poker with Lloyd as Buffy watches, shaken.
Title/Creation: Gifset: Sometimes, Love Is
Prompt: AtS 3x15: Loyalty
Character/Pairing: Spike/Buffy
Rating: worksafe (minor violence against a knight of Byzantium and that's it)
Size: 7 gifs
Summary: Sometimes love is a shared struggle, an unlikely victory, an unconditional partnership.
Author's Note/Disclaimer: an unconditional partnership is loyalty.
Title/Creation: Concept: ace Willow
Prompt: Mistaken Identity
Character/Pairing: Willow
Rating: T
Word Count: 1180
Summary: Can one truly be in the Buffy fandom without forming a pet theory on Willow's Sexuality? Yes. But will I miss the opportunity to do so? No, as it turns out.
Author's Note/Disclaimer: "In lesbian!Willow headcanons, Willow is influenced by compulsory heterosexuality that makes her think that her feelings for her male friends must be romantic or sexual interest. Likewise, ace!Willow would be influenced by sexnormativity.... Could this be read as a character who defaults to thinking/talking about pleasure and excitement in terms of sex, because that's the language and cultural context available to her? What would happen when she's excited about a new relationship and intensely enjoying a shared activity, such as magic? Would her default assumption be that this must mean it's in some way sexy?"
Title/Creation: sunrise manips
Prompt: AtS 2x08: The Shroud of Rahmon
Character/Pairing: Spike, Buffy
Rating: worksafe
Size: a set of two 1280x720 px manips
Summary: The first image is, I believe, of Spike right before he says, "So you'll give me what I want. Make me what I was. So Buffy can get what she deserves." But I think it looks similar to Spike in the final scene of "Intervention" too, and upon reflection I don't mind. The second image is of Buffy as she's about to say, "What you did, for me, and Dawn ... that was real."
Author's Note/Disclaimer: "Humans always got to *feel* something about everything. And they always got to tell you about it. 'I'm so happy - I'm so sad - I'm so scared.' Makes me sick." - Spiny, "The Shroud of Rahmon"
As I say in the post, these manips happened because I have big feelings about sunrises and about solstices.
Title/Creation: cover image for Cornerofmadness' story Psychedelic Butterfly
Prompt: AtS 4x15: Orpheus
Character/Pairing: Spike, Drusilla, Ripper, Ethan
Rating: probably worksafe (implied drug use)
Size: 600x800 px
Cornerofmadness' summary of the story: Spike and Dru get more than they bargain for when they crash Ethan and Ripper’s magic party.
Author's Note/Disclaimer: I think it works for the prompt because, in the episode "Orpheus", Faith and Angel are under the influence of a drug that can be described as psychedelic (it makes them go on a trip to Angel's past). In the story that this cover illustrates, Ripper and Ethan and their friends use magic like psychedelic drugs, for example, there's a spell that lets them see music; and, of course, there is the story title. I used a "psychedelic" style for the cover with the doodles and the very bright colors and the title font.
Title/Creation: Spike Wins the Soul in Kitten Poker: the fridge poem
Prompt: Feathers
Character/Pairing: Spike/Buffy, Lloyd
Rating: G
Length: 48 lines
Summary: Lloyd comes to poker night in "Life Serial".
Author's Note/Disclaimer: "a soul/ a hypnotic sparkle feather/ heart of the boy this vampire was"
